Today, I went for a coffee with my art friend Verdigo, we'd set up a kind of art day in which I may have put her on the spot to agreeing on a day and time. It was fun. It's nice to get feedback from someone who you know isn't going to bullshit you.
I had recently started to draw again, I took art and design in college but never really did anything after I left. It was something I did to pass the time before I really wanted to get a job and be a "responsible adult". I had fun in those two years, I learned a lot about photography and how to develop film, but there wasn't much fine art and the sculpture was just an excuse to get really messy and throw clay at people.
I started to test out how well I can draw posed people. The lines of the body and the angles. The light and shadow. Turns out I'm pretty okay but will completely ignore faces, hands and feet. The art day with Verdigo was basically for us to draw and chat about how we'd put certain features in place.
She taught me how to properly draw clothes that didn't look like Lycra on a body and how the perspective is always key into how curved or straight a skirt it's or even a hand and it's fingers.
I will probably post my artwork on here but for the moment I don't have any of the images on my phone, which is where I'm typing this from.
Shadow Spark out...
